Sabbakki Happala

ಸಬ್ಬಕ್ಕಿ ಹಪ್ಪಳ   

Summer is the time for ಹಪ್ಪಳ ,ಸಂಡಿಗೆ and ಪೇಣಿ to be prepared And after a gap of many years this 'yearly affair' is back at my house (Thanks to ಅಜ್ಜಿ  !!) ..Sabbakki Happala was the first to be prepared so here is a overview of How To Make Sabbakki Happala ......

ಬೇಕಾಗುವ ಸಾಮಗ್ರಿಗಳು :

  • ಸಬ್ಬಕ್ಕಿ

  • ಹಸಿರು ಮೆಣಸಿನಕಾಯಿ 

  •  ಇಂಗು
  •  ರುಚಿಗೆ ತಕ್ಕ ಷ್ಟು ಉಪ್ಪು  

    ಮಾಡುವ ವಿದಾನ :

    --> Soak Sabbakki in water overnight .




    --> Cook the soaked Sabbakki until it attains a thick sticky consistency.


    --> Make paste of green chillies.

    -->Add the green chilly paste ,small amount of Asafoetida and Salt to the cooking Sabbakki paste.


    -->Allow it to cook for some more time until it attains a consistency like this

    Now The sabakki paste is ready:)

    Apply the sabakki paste in shapes of your choice(!) on a clean plastic sheet out in the sun..as show in the picture below :)
